JUNE 2018 BLOG
Laura Alison Photography
Laura Alison popped in to see us at the end of May to take some wonderful pictures of the Walled Garden. It is always nice getting new photographers in to take pictures of the venue as they find different areas and angles of the garden and marquee. The photos got sent through at the beginning of June and we are amazed at what she sent! Alison is incredibly talented and got some gorgeous shots of the garden from angles we have never seen before. We would highly suggest Alison if you are looking for a wedding photographer. Go visit our ‘Tool Shed’ to contact her!
Working with Curious Magpie
Julia from Curious Magpie came in for meeting at the end of May to discuss helping us with the theme and style ideas for our Marrakesh theme at Christmas. Julia is a new and upcoming venue stylist and she is incredibly creative and thinks of the most amazing ideas. We had a charity event this month which was Caribbean themed and Julia to decorated it for us. Her work was very impressive and its made us excited for what ideas she is going to bring for Christmas! Our planning meeting is next month to go through ideas/mood boards and start ordering decorations for Christmas.
Phil and Ed’s Wedding
On the first weekend of June, Ed (One of the owner’s sons) and Phil got married. It was an incredible weekend. On the Friday there was a massive team here to set up with Fabric Theatre creating a party area over the dance floor and they also had an extension on the marquee to create a ‘chill out area’ for the night time. On the Saturday morning we woke up to cloud and rain however by midday the clouds had cleared and the sunshine had come out (thank goodness!). Ed and Phil got married outside and enjoyed a 3 course meal and a party in the evening. On the Sunday, they came back with close family and friends to enjoy a BBQ in the garden. The whole weekend was perfect and it was lovely to see the owners being able to enjoy the venue that they created.

As gin has become such a craze at the minute, we thought we better get some new gins in for this summer! We decided to get some locally produced gins and went for Castle Gate. Both the original flavour and the Strawberry and Lavender are available at the bar. They both taste delllisicous, especially sitting out in the garden in the sun.
